  • Will any medications interfere with this treatment?
    It is rare that commonly taken medications interfere with ketamine infusions. Each patient will have an individually tailored plan to determine eligibility for ketamine therapy.
  • How do I log onto the app?
    To start, download the mobile app. On the iPhone, click this link to download the app (alternatively, search “Osmind” in the app store). For Android users, click this link to download the app (or search “Osmind” in the Google Play Store). After you download the app, you can log in using the temporary credentials included in your invitation email. You can also click “Forgot Password” to reset your password.
  • Do I need a doctor’s referral for treatment?
    You do not need a doctor’s referral for treatment at Brandywine Therapeutics.
  • How long will I feel effects of the infusions?
    Some patients will have long term effects following their initial infusion. Most patients are scheduled for their initial series of infusions and then start a maintenance program, where booster infusions are scheduled intermittently to enhance long lasting effects.
  • What conditions does ketamine treat?
    Research has shown that therapeutic dosages of ketamine have been shown to treat various chronic pain syndromes, including, neuropathic pain, fibromyalgia, complex pain syndrome and some types of nerve and back pain. Additionally, ketamine infusions have shown great success in treating drug-resistant depression and anxieties.
  • Will insurance pay for infusions?
    No. Brandywine Therapeutics does not contract with any insurance carriers. We require payment prior to any rendering of services. We can provide any necessary paperwork needed for insurance reimbursement, but we do not investigate insurance coverage.
  • How many infusions will I need?
    Typically, a patient will be scheduled for a series of up to 3- 6 infusion treatments. We will work with you to create an individualized plan based on your needs. Some patients will be placed on a maintenance program, where booster infusions are scheduled intermittently to enhance long lasting effects.
  • Is the app HIPAA compliant?
    Yes! The platform is HIPAA-compliant, protected by end-to-end encryption, and research-grade (meaning parties such as the FDA trust the authenticity of the data). Brandywine Therapeutics and Osmind both uphold strict standards for safeguarding protected health information. We chose to use this system because we trust its security and privacy safeguards.
  • How long do infusions take?
    We will create an individualized treatment plan for you based on your needs, but patients can typically expect to spend 60 - 120 minutes in our office per infusion session.
  • Is ketamine right for me?
    We specialize in ketamine infusions for the treatment of chronic pain, depression, and anxiety. During your initial consultation, we will provide a thorough medical assessment and review your medical history, including past and current medical problems and medications to determine if ketamine therapy is right for you.

    Yes, Ketamine is an FDA-approved anesthetic that is widely used around the world in various settings. Ketamine is considered a safe drug when properly administered at the appropriate dosages.
  • What is ketamine?
    Ketamine is a FDA approved anesthetic that has been used since the 1960s in operating rooms as an anesthetic. Ketamine is a safe, effective, and fast acting medication with few side effects. Within the past two decades, research has shown that sub-anesthetic doses of ketamine has been proven to significant improvement in chronic pain management and treatment resistant depression.
  • Are there any side effects of ketamine treatment?
    During infusions, side effects may include: rise in blood pressure or pulse rate, nausea, or allergic reaction. We provide constant monitoring of vital signs throughout the infusion and can intervene if any of these occur. You may feel tired following your infusion. Side effects, if any, are minimal and short lived.
  • What directions do I need to follow before my infusion?
    Prior to your treatment, you will receive a call to review all day of procedures, requirements and discharge information. You are not able to drive following your infusions and therefore must bring a designated driver with you to the office. You are required to avoid eating any solids 6 hours prior to an infusion, and stop drinking any liquids 2 hours prior to an infusion.
